Welcome to Moreton Hall Preparatory School. The school is an independent day and boarding school for pupils aged 2 ¾ - 13 years which feeds a wide range of senior schools throughout the country. This year’s successes include two ‘Academic and Sports’ scholarships won to Millfield and Ipswich School with many pupils having already gained their places at their first choice senior schools. Situated in a rural setting on the edge of Bury St Edmunds the school occupies a Robert Adam country house with 30 acres of grounds overlooking Bury St Edmunds. There has been a school on the site for many years and the school in its present form was founded by the Duke of Norfolk’s family in 1962. The catholic ethos of our founders is still at the heart of the school in the five school values which underpin life at Moreton Hall. Community, Hospitality, Humility, Reconciliation, and Service. In March 2009 Ofsted inspected the boarding standards and standards of care at the school. We are delighted to be awarded an ‘outstanding’ rating in the three key areas governing pupil life at Moreton Hall: ‘Helping children achieve well and enjoy what they do’; ‘Helping children make a positive contribution’; and ‘Management and Organisation of Boarding’; The three remaining categories identify many strengths of the school and I invite all prospective parents to view the report in full. I hope that you will enjoy visiting this website and that it will convey a flavour of life at Moreton Hall and the special atmosphere that allows pupils to flourish. The best way to find out more is to come and meet our pupils and staff. We very much look forward to seeing you here at Moreton Hall. You and your family will be most welcome. Benedict Dunhill |
