The children are taught in small classes, the average being twelve to a form. After the first year in the prep, a child is taught entirely by specialist teachers. Science is taught according to the Nuffield course and is divided early into Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
All Pre-Prep and Prep
pupils have access to the School's Information Technology Room, which contains
the latest technology with controlled access to the Internet and email.
A combination of small
Prep School classes and wide access outside lesson times has enabled a high
degree of computer literacy to be achieved within the School.
We offer both academic
scholarships, and subject to voice trials, a number of St. Edmundsbury Cathedral
Chorister scholarships, for both boarding and day pupils.
Art is an essential part of the curriculum, and all children are taught by a full-time specialist. The children are engaged in conventional fine arts as well as a range of creative crafts through the Design Technology department. Children's work is displayed around the school. Each child is encouraged to believe in their own contribution, irrespective of ability.
